[ARCHIVED] Sewer Rehabilitation - Anderson Street

Two sanitary sewers in Anderson Street between Oxford Street and Cumberland Avenue are going to be rehabilitated using a trenchless liner. The sewers are being rehabilitated to address several defects and prevent future structural problems. The work is anticipated to occur on Wednesday, June 16, Thursday, June 17th, and Monday, June 21st.

While the process does not require any digging, it will cause laterals (the pipe from a house to the sewer) to be blocked for a couple of hours during the day, generally between 9 AM and 3 PM, while the liner is cured and the lateral connections are cut out to restore service. Residents can still flush your toilet and use water; we would just ask that you limit intensive water usage such as showering or doing laundry to prevent your lateral from backing up. If your sump pump is tied into the sewer and is running (they shouldn’t be), it may back up.

Besides the temporary impact to sewer service during the lining process, no parking signs will be posted along Anderson Street to allow for the contractor to complete the work and to allow Anderson Street to remain open for traffic. Impacted residents will receive notification letters with additional information.
