Bike to Work Day - THIS FRIDAY!

Beginning Friday May 21st, three bicycle repair stations will be available on the Portland peninsula just in time for Bike to Work Day!

Please join us for demonstrations on the 21st at all three locations beginning at 8:00AM –

- Congress Square Park at Congress and High Street

- METRO Pulse Station on Elm Street near Congress Street

- Amethyst Park on the Eastern Prom Trail

Driving, and parking, downtown can be a challenge. Why not commute by bike to save the hassle, meet your exercise goal for the day, and enjoy a ride? With easily accessible bicycle repair stations located in three locations, you won’t need to worry should you have to fix a flat or re-attach a slipped chain while visiting or working downtown. Each station includes Phillips and flathead screwdrivers; Allen, headset, pedal, and box wrenches; tire levers; and a manual air pump.

The bicycle repair stations are presented by Portland Downtown in partnership with the City of Portland, and made possible through funding from the City’s Community Development Block Grant program. Additional event partners include the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, Friends of Congress Square Park, and Portland Trails.

Bicycle repair demonstrations on May 21st will be provided by Allspeed Cyclery, Gorham Bike & Ski, and Portland Gear Hub from 8:00 – 9:00AM. We hope to see you there – don’t forget your mask!
