City of Portland receives a $10,000 Donation for Organic Practices at Fox Field!

unnamed

On Monday, September 21st, the City of Portland received a check for $10,000 from Stonyfield Farm and Hannaford to apply Organic Practices to Fox Field. Stonyfield donated $5,000 and Hannaford generously matched that amount. Fox Field is one of the City's highest use athletic fields and one that is exempt from the pesticide ordinance because of that. The Parks Department's goal is to make all fields in the city pesticide free and implementing a successful organic program is how we will accomplish that. This generous contribution, alongside a detailed consultation with Chip Osborne and Beyond Pesticides will put us in a great position to find the organic program that works best for Portland and our many Athletic Fields.
