The City of Portland is proud to offer Camp Resurgam at three sites across the city this summer: East End Community Center overlooking Back Cove; Riverton Community Center at Talbot School on the north end of the city; and Amanda C. Rowe Elementary School conveniently located right off Brighton Avenue. Resurgam is the Portland City Motto meaning “I will rise,” and we couldn’t agree more - we will rise to the challenge of getting summer fun back on track after our slow down due to the pandemic we experienced last year.
WHo are our Campers?
Our day camps cater to the most popular ages for campers - those just finishing kindergarten through 5th grade. The camps’ focus is fun! Whether you choose just a week or two or sign up for the entire seven weeks of camp, your child will be making new friends, going on great field trips, and having memorable experiences, both indoors and outdoors.
Each of the three sites will highlight a different theme each week, from We Are Family to Splish Splash Water to Superhero Weeks - we have something for everyone. And our well-trained camp staff is a truly dedicated group of people who love supporting children as they explore the outdoors, make new friends and enjoy the wonderful days of summer! While the theme weeks encourage focused activities, crafts, books, etc. there will be plenty of time each and every day to engage in supervised free play outside on the playground and group games in the gym, allowing your child to be a kid!
The program starts Monday, June 28 and continues through Friday, August 13. Camps are by registration only (no drop-ins) and run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (drop off from 8:30 a.m. and pick up until 5:00 p.m. Limited before camp spots starting at 7:30 a.m.). Camp fees include breakfast, lunch, camp t-shirt and field trip admissions. We do have a limited number of fee waivers available on a first come, first served basis for residents of Portland.
